Here are answers to some common questions.

What is SEO?

What is SEO?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization, which, in it’s simplest terms is the art of following the specific guidelines and techniques required to have your website show higher in search engine rankings.

This is not ‘tricking’ or ‘magic’. In truth, it is just ‘doing what we’re told works’ as described in Google documentation. The hard part, and the part folks generally need help with, is implementation.

There’s certainly a lot of technical details, code, and background nonsense involved, so hiring an expert is always a good call. (I could learn how to change the oil in my vehicle… But I’d rather trust it to the professionals!)

There are ON SITE factors, as well as OFF SITE factors for search optimization.

ON SITE factors include features such as site loading speed, mobile friendliness, proper content formatting, logical navigation, and relevant content.

OFF SITE factors include your back link catalog (links pointing to your site from other sites) local directory listings (Like Yelp and Google Places), and relevant content back linking from related content (A link to you in an article/post about the same type of business as you’re in).

What is Web Design?

What is Web Design?

Web design is where I go over the information you provide me, example links, documents, wish lists etc, and turn that information into a website. Live and online.

Often all it takes is a few examples of other websites that you like the look of, combined with your own logo and information and you’ve got the secret recipe for your future website.

What is Web Hosting

What is Web Hosting?

Besides being my favorite past time, web hosting is the ‘real estate’ side of having a website. Your website must reside on a server, or cloud computer, where all of it’s files are stored and secured.

This hosting server requires maintenance and is like the ‘lot’ where your house (website) will sit.

A web host server is a very complicated computer, with countless features which all work together to try to assure you a seamless, and always functional website experience.
